Okay, so: as many of you know, I bind books as a hobby. Earlier this year, I gave away two blank hardbound books, and I’m doing it again… with a twist.
Usually, people buy books because of what’s inside them. But as we fandom-people know, there are written works that are sometimes harder to curl up around. So: I am giving away one custom printed and bound work of fiction: it can be fanfiction, poetry, or work in common domain.
Rules:
This contest will run through midnight Pacific time on Friday, August 10. I will be choosing one winner at random. You may enter by liking this post or reblogging— please only reblog once. If you reblog this post more than once, you will be disqualified, as I don’t want to clog anyone’s dash. You do not have to be following me to enter or win. Make sure your ask is open so that I can let you know if you win! I will ship anywhere in the world, and cover the cost of materials.
What you get:
One hardcover book, up to 300 pages, with contents of your choosing. If you are a fic author I am happy to bind your own work; if you want a book of someone else’s fanfic, I must have their written permission. Works in the public domain are fair game as well.
What I get out of this: the experience? It’s been a while since I had a bookbinding project, and I miss it. I am not offering to do this for any sort of money or exchange of services, and I am not offering this outside of this contest. Also, please understand that this will be quite an undertaking, time-wise, so trying to get this done for someone’s birthday or something along those lines is probably a bad idea. Please let me know if you have any questions!
